What if I have more than 4 knobs on my stove?

Each kit comes with 4 knobs. We can add additional knobs to any purchase. Please contactsupport@homelife.technology to purchase additional Smarturn knobs.

How long do the batteries in the Smarturn knobs and motion sensor last?

The Smarturns Knobs are powered by a CR2032 coin battery. With our extremely low power wireless protocol (patent pending technology), the battery in the Smarturn knobs can last for about 4 years under common usage. The motion sensor is powered by AAA batteries which we recommend changing every 6 months. Please watch the videoHow to change battery of TochSmarturns Knobs.

What happens if the Internet connection is lost?

If the internet connection is lost, the Smarturns knobs and local hub alarm will continue to work and local alerts will sound if the stove is left on unattended. There is NO impact to the use of stove.

However, while the internet connection is lost, notification messages will NOT be sent to mobile phones.

Can I monitor multiple Smarturns kits/ locations on my mobile phone app?

Yes, we support multiple Smarturns locations on the mobile phone app. You can log in the app on your mobile phone and add the second Smarturns to your account

Can I use the Smarturns App to turn my stove Off or On?

No. You will not be able to control your stove from the Smarturns App. The Smarturns app will alert you if the stove has been inadvertently left on. You can then take the necessary action to contact the user to turn the stove off.

Does Smarturns change the way I use my stove?

No. You continue to use your stove the same way as you always would. Smarturns is simply a safety alert if the stove is accidentally left on.

How do I know if Smarturns is compatible with my stove?

Smarturns will work on most gas or electric stoves that are operated using knobs. It is not compatible with cooktops that use touch controls.

If in the unlikely situation, it is not compatible with your stove, you can return Smarturns for a full refund.

How do I know if i need Vertical or Horizontal knobs?

There are two types of Smarturns knobs types to suit different stove designs:

  • Horizontal: Choose these if the existing knobs on your stove are facing up, towards the ceiling.
  • Vertical: Choose these if the existing knobs on your stove are facing towards you (including if they are slightly angled up).

If you are unsure, simply send a picture of your stove to support@homelife.technology and we can advise you.

Do I need to have internet access and a mobile phone to use Smarturns?

No. You don’t need the internet or a mobile phone to use Smarturns.

Without the internet, the Hub will work as an automatic, local alarm, alerting the stove user when they are away from the stove for 5 minutes. This default time can be adjusted by contacting our support team at support@homelife.technology .

However, without internet access and a mobile phone family and carers will not be able to receive alerts regarding stove activity remotely.
