Bought it for my 90 year old mum. This was the best option I could find for her to replace her CDs/player. It was quite easy to set up and add songs to via a USB memory stick. The sound quality is adequate but for the price, the speaker quality could be better (deeper tones). One surprise is that you can't 'forward' past a song on your play list. Once MP3 songs start, you have to listen through every song in order (unless I'm doing something wrong). A few improvements that would be worth considering are: 1. Colour the on and off buttons to red and green or similar (as vision impaired people can't easily read the on-off lettering. 2. With the MP3 play button, program it (or add another button) to be able to skip forward on the play list. That is, if you want to change the song to the next one, you can do so easily. 3. The Headphone jack is on the back next to another plug. Suggest move it to the front and away from any other plugs.

Mum has always loved music, it was sad when she wasn’t able work out how to play it anymore. This made her day, she finds it simple to use and she doesn’t feel silly because she can do it by herself. Love this player . Thanks for bringing my mum some joy through her Alzheimers.

My mum loves her new music player. She can always find her favorite station straight away... in fact it only plays her favorites! She loves how modern it looks, and was so grateful that the package didn't mention memory loss, so nobody at her 80th birthday party even mentioned dementia. She has it on most of the time, even when she is not in her room. There's no more phone calls saying her radio is broken, because she's forgotten how to use it. Even on her worst days she can still manage this one without help. If anyone can invent a tv as simple as this, l will be first to buy it for her! Totally worth every cent.

We are pretty satisfied for the price I might have expected finer increments of control over volume, although usability over functionality is still welcome, and perhaps a suggestion would be a something new button to skip tracks from USB or jump to a new station.

We bought this as a gift for a relative with dementia in a nursing home, who had been using a clock radio forever, but was having more and more trouble using it, to the point it somehow got broken and wouldn't work at all. As he's a music lover, we did our best to search out a suitable replacement, and stumbled on the Relish radio/music player. It picks up FM and DAB+ stations, and plays music from a USB stick, and it's just so simple and easy to use! It's a sturdy looking unit, and sounds great. We have programmed in his three favourite radio stations, and demonstrated how to use it. It's so easy -- a power button, your "favourites" buttons (which have plenty of space to label them), a "My Playlist" button (which will play what's on your USB stick), and a volume control. It doesn't get any better than that! HOMELife Technology were great to deal with, answered my questions, and posted the order quickly. Thanks a lot!

This is the second unit we bought for ‘older’ family members. The instructions are easy to follow, so setting it up was easy. The sound is very good. The controls are easy to operate. No problems experienced with either unit, so we are happy. The price seems high to me, but there are limited options for these types of units. Once you see your loved one playing music and enjoying it, you forget about the price.

It has great sound quality and very simple for my mum to use, the only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have AM radio and we live in regional NSW and don't receive DAB, so my mum can't listen to her favourite radio station sadly.

Bought radio for my mum with dementia. She can manage to use it independently. Initially, she was confused and wanted to press the name of the station, but is now accustomed to pressing the triangle button beside the station name.
The look of the radio and simplicity is very appealing.
Grandkids are contributing by making usb sticks with songs and stories for her to listen to.

My Grandpa has Dementia and we sadly had to place him into aged care last week for his safety. He has always loved classical music, but lost the ability to play it for himself with his usual devices. I bought this machine hoping it would bring music back into his life. Yesterday, I visited him and found him sitting in his chair with classical music blaring. He had been able to work this machine!! He was thrilled and so was I. I cannot recommend this music player enough, it was easy to setup and easy enough to use for a man with advanced Dementia by himself.

Purchased this Relish Radio/Music Player for my mother, who due to arthritis and failing eyesight is finding conventional radios more difficult to use. While mum was a little apprehensive at first as it was larger and "different" from the radios she was used to, it only took one day for her to be totally on board with how easy it was to use, and now uses it day and night.
The sound quality is excellent, programming the stations is very straightforward, and it's great that you can mix and match FM and DAB+ stations between the 3 presets.
It's clearly been designed with a lot of practical thought, can easily be operated purely by touch without fear of accidentally changing a station or preset, and its large base also makes it very stable.
Note - we did initially have a slight glitch with an incorrect plug-pack supplied, however HOMELife went above and beyond in rectifying the problem very quickly ... +10/10 for their customer service.

My Mother who is 92 had been missing her ability to tune in to the ABC as most radios are a little to complicated for her, especially Digital radios .

I bought this for my mother who was having all sorts of issues trying to use a DAB+ radio with too many buttons and complicated programming. She loves the simplicity of this radio and isn't afraid she will muck up the tuning to her favourite stations by pushing the wrong button. The sound quality is also excellent.

Wow what a difference this has made for my mum. She is nearly 92 years young and was an entertainer at times during her lifetime so music has always been such a big part of her life. It was so sad to see her not being able to manage her cd player any longer and to not hear any music streaming from her room. But that has all changed now thanks to her new music player. I loaded up 8 hours of mp3's of all of her favourite songs throughout the years with many more new ones which she loves. It has been so simple for her to use. Mum is in a nursing home now after a number of years living with us and she enjoys sharing her music with all of the staff. It is such a joy to see her having music back in her life again. Thankyou for such a wonderful product. Unfortunately we do not receive digital radio in our area but it doesn't matter as she loves all of her songs sooooo much.

Extremely happy with the radio, my mother who has dementia and is in residential care understands it, and also importantly the staff can easily operate it. They are always busy, so being able to glance at a device and know how to turn it off, change station or volume is important. The hardest part of setting up the Relish Radio music player was ripping 100s of hours of cds to my hard drive to copy onto the USB memory stick. Apart from that, setting up the player for the fm radio stations that would be available to my mother in law (MiL), was a doddle. DAB+ is not available at MiL's hostel, but was easily set up for my local Radio station for print handicapped.
The only criticisms are (1) the delay from switching the device on to hearing playback, and (2) if MiL turns the device off (to stand-by) because she can't stand the music, when she turns it on again, the same disliked track plays from the beginning. Sort of an unwelcoming groundhog day for her. She has been told to just turn the volume down until a better liked track plays, and it will be interesting to learn if that strategy has been embedded in her memory.
Sound quality is good, and the device has a feel of something substantial.

Purchased the radio for my mother in aged care with some early signs of dementia. It has been fantastic as the design is perfect for people need simplicity in operations. My mother loves the radio but we have struggled to get something that is easy to use where now button chose is reduced to only what is needed and clearly set out to help. Mum struggles with change but the layout was so simple & clear we could not be happier.
The quality of the unit & sound is also high and can strongly recommend it to anyone.

Seeing our mum enjoying the Relish-Radio and Music Player warmed our hearts! With a stylish design, it is lightweight, but sturdy, and the clear buttons and volume dial are very user-friendly. We were pleasantly surprised at how uncomplicated it was to set up! My only suggestion would be to add a handle for easy transport from room to room.
